You may have heard the rumors bandied about that Tom “durrrr” Dwan, of the notorious $1 million challenge, the durrrr challenge, might be joining Team Full Tilt. Well it is neither rumor nor just a mere possibility anymore. Tom Dwan has officially signed on as the latest celebrity member of Full Tilt Poker’s team of sponsored pros.
Full Tilt has several ways of distinguishing sponsorships and endorsements, with their CardRunners coaches, their Friends of Full Tilt, even “regular old” Full Tilt Pros. But Team Full Tilt, well that’s another distinction altogether. There are many Red Pros, for example (so named because their names show up in red instead of black when they’re sitting at a table). But there are very few members of Team Full Tilt – 13, to be exact. Or now 14, rather.
Only the best pro poker players in the world are on Team Full Tilt, including 7th place winner at this year’s World Series of Poker Main Event, Phil Ivey. We wonder if there’s any connection between the currently running 14th Full Tilt Online Poker Series and the timely addition of the 14th member of Team Full Tilt to the team.
Ironically enough, another member of Team Full Tilt, the last one to join the team, in fact, back in June of 2008, Patrik Antonius has been locked in battle with Tom Dwan in his infamous durrrr challenge. What is it they say about strange bedfellows?
In helping publicize this news, fellow Team Full Tilt member Chris “Jesus” Ferguson points out that durrrr started his poker career on Full Tilt Poker with just a $40 deposit.
